Undeliverable Refund Database
Whether you're checking online or by phone, be sure you have a copy of your tax return on hand to verify information.
Refunds are mailed every day of the week. If you file electronically through a professional tax preparer, be sure to verify that your return has been transmitted to the state before checking the status of your refund.
If you choose to have your refund deposited directly into your bank account, you can get it in as little as 48 hours!
Please wait until at least 10 days after you received an approved acknowledgment for your return.
Typically, delays in receiving refund result when:
- The address used on the return doesn't correspond with the address on file with the Comptroller's Office;
- The amount claimed on the Maryland state return for estimated taxes paid does not correspond to what is on file with the Comptroller's Office;
- Back taxes are due; or,
- Liabilities to other state agencies or the IRS exist.
