Electronic or telefiled returns can take up to 15 business days to process from the date they were accepted. Paper filed returns can take up to 90 days to process from the date they were mailed.

Minnesota has a new online secure Taxpayer Access system that they are currently testing. It requires you to register before being able to use it. If neither the automated phone help line nor the online tracking system has information about your refund and you know it has been 90 days or more since you mailed your return (or three weeks or more since the acceptance of an electronic or telefiled return), click here: Minnesota Department of Revenue to send an email.
Please be sure to include the following information in your request:
- Date return was mailed or accepted
- Full name
- Spouses name (if applicable)
- Date of birth
- Last 4 digits of SSN
